As one of the first airlines Lufthansa introduced laptops as a tool for their pilots several years ago. Off-the-shelf laptops are used for documentation, training, information and communication. The next step was the integration of these laptops into the cockpit infrastructure to widen the field of application. Being one of the most innovative airlines Lufthansa is leading the market of Electronic Flight Bags. This presentation will show the need for innovative IT solutions in the environment of an airline cockpit and its benefits for the pilots and airlines.
